A “Drug Mule” is a person who transports illegal drugs by swallowing them or concealing them in a body cavity.
The story of Tanzanian mules entering Hong Kong is typical of what happens around the world. Unofficial figures show that in Hong Kong alone there are currently about 200 inmates from Tanzania. About 130 convicted and about 70 on remand.
Below is the letter, written in Swahili by a Hong Kong Tanzanian inmate, translated into English by another inmate.
NOTE: If this letter stops even one person from being a mule, it is worthwhile. Please SHARE it with your family and friends! Hopefully this story will be seen by many people in Tanzania, and will discourage others from becoming mules.
